                         Medical Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Medical Assistants help physicians and nurses deliver patient care.  They schedule appointments; take blood pressures, respirations, temperatures; and perform other routine patient pre-examining procedures.  Sometimes they help with office and clerical tasks.  Medical assistants work in hospitals, clinics, and private physician offices.

Average Salary: $17,000 - $18,000

Educational Requirements:

 Students should complete high school with courses in biology, physical science, office management, communications, and human relations, although medical assistant training programs may accept GED certificates.  Medical assistant training programs are provided by community colleges and for-profit technical training schools.  They may take between six months and two years to complete.

Reflection:

Personally I would love to be a Medical Assistant one day since I enjoy taking care of the sick. Another reason why I would enjoy being a medical assistant is because they save lives and help the injured people when they are heart.

            Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) work under the direction of registered nurses and physicians.  They care for injured, handicapped, and sick patients.  Their duties include taking temperatures, blood pressures, and pulses.  They also give injections, change dressings, and help give patients baths.  In general, they care for patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and extended care facilities.  Some practical nurses work in private homes.

Average Salary: $16,000 - $23,000

Educational Requirements:

Although a high school diploma or GED certificate is not always required, it is encouraged.  LPNs do not have the extensive professional education that is required for a registered nurse.  State approved training programs are offered by the hospitals, vocational schools, junior colleges and private schools.

Reflection:

Paul William "Bear" Bryant was an American college football player and coach. He was best known as the longtime head coach of the University of Alabama football team. He was born on September 11, 1913, in Fordyce, Arkansas. Unfortunately he past away on January 26, 1983, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Paul Bear Bryant was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Alabama. Were his spouse Mary Harmon was very devastated.

                      Industrial Hygienist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Industrial hygienists evaluate health hazards, conduct health risk assessments, manage industrial or business health programs, and provide consultation.  They may be administrators, researchers, consultants or teachers.  Many work as part of an industrial or government team, although some have private practices.  Industrial hygienists often:  Collect samples and perform laboratory analyses. Check worker exposure to radiation, vibrations, and noise. Calibrate equipment. Investigate possible health hazards. Conduct epidemiological research. Instruct employees on injury prevention techniques.

Average Salary: $40,000 - $60,000

Educational Requirements:

Students should take challenging college preparatory courses, especially in mathematics and science, during high school. 

A career in industrial hygiene requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health engineering, or the physical sciences.  Many jobs require certification and/or a Master's Degree in these, or related, fields.  Certification requires successful completion of the American Board of Industrial Hygiene examination.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Histology Specialists include both Histologic Technicians and Histologists.  Histologists are also referred to as Histotechnologists.  Both histologic technicians and histologists prepare tissue samples that are used by physicians to determine if a patient has a disease, dysfunction, or malignancy.

In my opinion, i would actually enjoy becoming a Histology Scientists, since i myself love ;to help the  people in need. Also since i am one who is known for helping out the people.

 Health Information Specialists obtain, post, and analyze medical, workload, finance, and insurance data.  They ensure that this information is properly recorded into medical records so practitioners can plan and evaluate health care provided to patients. There are a variety of job specialties within this field including Registered Record Administrators, Accredited Record Technicians, and Certified Coding Specialists.  Administrators coordinate the various information management responsibilities and supervise record technicians and coding specialists.  Record technicians ensure medical records are accurate, coordinate reimbursement, and maintain disease registries for research.   

Health information specialists work in hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, physician offices, and many other medical settings.
